Summary: This article mainly talks about an increasing number of highly educated individuals taking drugs. The Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) plans to open a 24-hour drop-in centre and set up a 24-hour hotline. To reach up to more youngsters, SANA will also make use of social media, like Facebook and Twitter.

Opinion: Many educated people have the impulse of consuming drugs because they think that with drugs they could relieve stress. Others consume drugs because of boredom. Thus, I think that SANA should create a greater awareness of the many disadvantages that individuals could face when they take drugs, for example, the association could organize workshops with fun activities for primary school children and secondary school teenagers. They could even reach out to pre-school kids to inculcate important knowledge about drugs as it is always good to start telling the young that drugs are very harmful to our body. They should not take drugs no matter what circumstances they face, so that they would never attempt to consume drugs when they grow older.

On finishing the dishes, the bill was placed on the table. I immediately reached into my pocket to get my wallet. However, to my utter disbelief, when I opened my wallet, there were only a few dollars in it. The eighty dollars that my mum had given me was missing!

After a thorough check in my pockets and backpack, it suddenly dawned on me that I had carelessly left the sum of money on my bedroom table. I had been filled with so much joy and excitement, that I focused on planning the celebration and had forgotten to put my money in my wallet.

My friends only had a few dollars with them which was futile due to the large amount of money that I had to pay. I was utterly embarrassed and my face turned to a colour as red as a tomato. Neither my friends nor I had a handphone then.  Hence, I knew that the only feasible solution was to approach the waiter.

Embarrassing moment by JunTian

Soon, the day for us to get our costume came. We went to shop around many places, and finally found a suitable shop. When everyone finally found the uniform attire, I realized that the shop did not have the size of my pants. However, in order to be uniformed, I had no choice but to take the pants that was two sizes smaller. If only I was wiser then.

Finally, the day of our performance arrived. It was time for us to show everyone our talent! After one performance after another, it was soon our turn. Feeling a little nervous, and extremely ‘cramped’ because of the pants, I slowly entered the central stage. Then, a single spotlight came shining down on me. I knew I had the crowd’s attention. This was my chance to be known to everyone! Once I got the signal, I started giving my all, dancing along to the music as smoothly as I could in my very tight pants. Then, the most embarrassing thing happened. “Snap!” that was all I heard before the crowd burst out into laughter. I stood up and stared at them, completely puzzled by the sudden laughter among them. Luckily, my group mate quickly ran forward me and alerted me about the giant hole in my pants. In that instant, I almost burst out into tears, as I stood there with the large hole in my pants, facing the sniggering crowd. For a whole moment, I stood there rooted to the ground, as my cheeks turned red in embarrassment and tears welled up in my eyes. After recovering from my shock, I quickly turned around and ran down the stage.

Ding dong! The school bell rang and we all gathered our notes and scurried to the parade ground for morning assembly. After morning assembly, we walked back to class excitedly, in anticipation of the exam paper. We were all waiting outside nervously, waiting to enter and finish that English paper. We entered the classroom with bated breath. After going through the papers, we were told to wait for the clock to strike eight.“You may begin now” the invigilator declared as the clock struck eight. There we were working at the paper as the time went by.
“Wow this paper was easier than expected! What a breeze,” I muttered to myself after completing the first comprehension in the first thirty minutes. “Now it’s the summary!” I mumbled to myself. I did many practices for my summary to improve it. This time I hoped I could put them into use.As I was moving on to the summary after completing my comprehension, something embarrassing happened. I farted due to the potatoes for breakfast. That broke the silence in the room and my face was as red as a tomato! So embarrassed, I covered my face with my hands and thought to myself, “Why now? I should not have been greedy and eaten so many potatoes this morning.” The class was giggling and pinching their noses at that stench. To make things worse, I was in an air-conditioned room where the ventilation was not very good. After the paper, the whole class broke into laughter, asking to find out who had released gas during the paper. I was so embarrassed that I wished there was a hole for me to hide in and not face them. My face now as red as a tomato, I dashed all the way to the bus stop where my father picked me up.
