News Article by Lim Kay Ray

Summary:
This article is about a study on the long-term plan on how to dispose nuclear waste properly in the UK, which has been delayed for seven years. The plant, Operator Sellafield Ltd, is UK's largest and most hazardous nuclear plant, storing enough high and intermediate level of radioactive waste to fill 27 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Hazardous radioactive waste is housed in buildings which pose' intolerable risks to people and the environment.

Opinion:

In my opinion, I think that the UK authorities should quicken the pace of the clean-up. The authorities said they were going to hasten the clean-up process yet was delayed by seven years. Operator Sellafield Ltd said it was "making improvements". I think that the authorities are not behaving responsibly as promised as that poses a bio-hazard to the people living near and the environment.
