Summarize the methods and aims of youth activism in post-war singapore by ZhiGang

Summary: In the past, youths attended schools but they were barely enough to fill their stomach in schools. For the poorer ones, they attended night schools founded by itinerant hawkers. Students that were from better schools taught those students that were in other schools and also supporting them to teach each other. Adults who were illiterate went on literate classes to study how to read and write as well. Youths created the student movement to raise the importance of having independence that would restore fraternal co-existence between the peoples of Malaya. Students then start to prepare themselves for the nation after independence.
